Join us for the Set-up Day & BBQ

Lynn Cotter , Assistant Manager

SHOW UPDATES: It is almost April 10th and your entries are DUE! Don’t forget, there are no exceptions for late entries. They need to be postmarked the 10th at the latest. If you have not received tags already, I will get them out to you as soon as I receive your entry.

BUILDINGS: We will be using Bay 1 main building for the Exhibitor’s Breakfast, BBQ and Meats Contest.

WRIST BANDS: We will be using wrist bands for identification of our Jr. Show exhibitors. They will be issued from our office to the 4-H Leaders and FFA Advisors in the same manner that BBQ tickets are issued. Leaders/Advisors; please come to the office to get yours. Lambs and Hogs, will be issued after weigh in on Tuesday. Steer people come to the office as soon as your group is in. Wrist bands will be issued one for each exhibitor. After all exhibitors have theirs, we would ask that parents with little brothers and sisters of Jr. Show exhibitors, bring the children up and we will give them a wrist band for identification also. This has been a request by Fair Security to identify kids that are supposed to be here as opposed to those coming on the grounds later in the evenings. Visitors are allowed however, it is just a precaution in case there is someone creating a disturbance, that does not belong to us. These make a little extra something as a momento of Jr. Show for our exhibitor. Thank you to Gus Johnson Ford this sponsorship.

HELP!!! I need at least 4 people to help with HERDSMANSHIP. I would like to have some moms or dads who could spend a little time in one barn, (not where your kids are) to do the Herdsmanship. You will not have to do more than one barn. Your duties will be to walk around to see if pens are clean, exhibitors are present to answer your questions and if they have educational posters etc. at their pen. You will be given a list of each group to tally the score.

SET-UP and BBQ: Saturday, April 28th 8:30 a.m. Our set up will take place in the swine barn. Bring wheel barrows, shovels/rakes etc to help. (There will be a large horse show using the indoor arena and part of the sheep barn.) We need a lot of people for that, so don’t stay home, thinking there will be nothing to do. On Monday, we will finish the sheep and beef barn. Fair crews will set up the east end of the sheep barn prior to the weekend, we might possibly be able to put shavings in on Saturday. If you are able to come and help on Monday, that would be really great. THOSE COMING TO HELP SET UP, COME TO MAIN GATE ON HAVANA, TURN LEFT ACROSS THE PARKING LOT AND COME THROUGH THE GREEN GATE. THERE IS LIMITED PARKING BY THE POULTRY BARN FOR THOSE WHO ARE BRINGING EQUIPMENT, FOOD ETC. ALL OTHERS PLEASE PARK IN THE MAIN LOT.

REMEMBER: Set up day is a work day, but we have fun too! We will have a “pitch in” BBQ
for lunch. Jr. Show provides, meat, pop and table service. We would ask that you fill in the menu with salads, desserts, chips etc. SEE YOU ON SATURDAY April 28th!!!

CAMPING: Campers may come in on the 28th. You will enter through the red gate and be instructed from there. If you come after noon, you can pay on Monday. You could also bring your camper in on Monday, April 30th or of course on Tuesday, May 1st. Don’t bring them in on Sunday, as there is no one to direct you that day. Also, there will be no pen decorating on Sunday as other shows are in progress.

SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBERS: Many questions regarding this issue. To answer your concerns I have contacted our accountant for the IRS form 1099 - MISC. I have underlined the parts that concern the exhibitors at Jr. Show. The specific language is as follows: File Form 1099-MISC for each person to whom you have paid (b) at least $600.00 in rents, services (including parts and materials), prizes and awards, other income payments, medical payments etc.......IT goes on to say: non-profit organizations are considered to be engaged in a trade or business and are subject to these reporting requirements.
Believe me, this is not something that Jr. Show has arbitrarily chosen to do, as it causes this office a tremendous amount of extra paper work. We are not sure at this time how many exhibitors this will affect, but we do know that we must report all monies paid through this office in prizes, awards & other income payments that are $600 or more. Stockland or other livestock exchanges live under different IRS rules, so the money from the animal sale is not a factor for us. Thank you for helping with this!

EAR TAGS: If you don’t receive your ear tags by April 20th, please contact me immediately. ALL ANIMALS MUST ARRIVE WITH EAR TAGS IN PLACE! NOTE: Please send back any unused ear tags, we are short and I have sent out many more than we have animals entered. Ear tags are expensive and it is a waste for us to buy more if you have extras, PLEASE SEND BACK!!

GOATS: If you should have any questions regarding the goat show that is NEW to this years Jr. Show, you can contact the superintendent; Lisa Wentland at 868-5561. The 4-H superintendent is Jim Wentland and the FFA superintendent is Greg Baker.

SUPPORTERS: How great to have several businesses coming on board to support our efforts! Bank of Fairfield with a sizable monetary donation, Sterling Savings Bank donating trophies, ribbons, banners etc., Gus Johnson Ford underwriting the cost of the wrist bands for three years, Ag Enterprise Supply, Inc. and Les Schwab are huge supporter of Jr. Show. Also, Bank of Whitman, Jewelry Design Center, and St. John Hardware were big supporters at our Benefit Auction. Please take time to thank representatives of these generous businesses and do business with them whenever possible.

BUTTON’S ALIVE: Charlene Jorgenson the button lady will be on site to take your pictures with your animals. She is usually in the sheep barn but will come and take your photo if you contact her.

PHOTOS: Doris Norris will be the official photographer. You have the opportunity to have her take photos or look through the books at the candids that she will be shooting throughout the show. THANK YOU CARDS: Are available from the office. If you have your own picture on a memory card we have the capability of making your photo in house. The cost is $1.50 each.
SPRING CREEK GRANGE and Rockin B Express: will be the only food booth on the grounds. They will have limited breakfast items, burgers, pop etc.

JANUARY 2007

Junior Show Plans

Treva Norris, Manager

It is now time to plan for the Junior Livestock Show Spokane. There have been some changes again this year so please Read Carefully!

Enclosed please see the tentative schedule for dates and times of contests and events. There may be changes therefore the actual schedule will be in the Premium Book. These will be in a printable version on our website.

Attention County Agents: I will make every effort to send this letter and enclosures to the livestock 4-H leaders in your county. If you have new leaders or leaders who may be interested in the demonstration or judging contest, please make sure they have copies.

The Junior Livestock Show of Spokane is open to all members of 4-H and FFA. We endorse the rules of these two organizations. We also have some rules which are unique to our Show. Make sure you are familiar with the Premium Book for eligibility requirements or phone if you are unsure. Anyone who has been banned from showing at any fair or livestock show WILL NOT be allowed to participate in this Jr. Show, during their suspension. ANY ANIMAL THAT HAS BEEN SOLD AT A PREVIOUS FAIR OR LIVESTOCK SHOW WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO ENTER THIS SHOW.

REFER TO THE WEBSITE
www.juniorshow.org

You can access entry forms on the website to download and fill out. There is a link that you are able to enter online using Sho Works after 3/1/07.

Again, this year Quality Assurance forms will need to be turned in when you weigh in your animals. No Form, No Show. These forms are very important as they assure our buyers healthy, wholesome animals. These Quality Assurance Forms are included in this package. THESE FORMS NEED TO ACCOMPANY THE ANIMAL AT WEIGH IN… DO NOT SEND IN WITH REGISTRATION.

You will again see a line on the Entry Form for a Social Security Number of the exhibitor. This is a must. The Internal Revenue Service requires that anyone who receives over $600.00 in combined monies from the show; we must file a 1099 form. This is important to all exhibitors as they will need to keep accurate records of all expenses for tax related deductions. (Be assured that the social security numbers will be kept secure in our safe and will not be used for any other purpose.

AMBASSADOR PROGRAM: This is a program for High School Juniors. Applications need to be made by April 10th as those people will be selected at Jr. Show. Information and applications forms are enclosed. This is an exciting and meaningful program geared to the promotion and education of Jr. Show and Exhibitors. There were four Ambassadors this past year and they did a “super” job. They each received a scholarship to the school of their choice in the amount of $700.00.

SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM: The Scholarship program still exists. If you are a senior in high school and have attended Jr. Show for at least 3 years you should apply for a scholarship. Applications are also included in this mailing. Two people will be chosen. All scholarship entries are due by April 10th this year so that Scholarships may be awarded before graduation.

DATES: Show and Sale will be held at the Fairgrounds. Animals may come in on May 1st from 9:00 AM until 8: P.M. This will allow students to go to school on Tuesday, if they wish. This year the hogs will sell on Saturday, beginning at 9:00 A.M. followed by Goats. Steers and lambs will sell on Sunday. Steers selling first, followed by lambs. We do expect to hold a Buyer’s Appreciation Breakfast and Lunch on both days. Encourage your prospective buyers to come to enjoy good food and company, before the sale begins.

Entries are due on April 10, 2007. NO LATE ENTRIES WILL BE ACCEPTED. Data processing of entries will be done in our office again this year. It is very important that your entries get in, are legible, and complete. If your entries come to us and we can’t read them, they will be returned, and you will risk not being entered. Pay special attention to completely filling out the division you are in and having your entry signed by both you and your parent or guardian. This form must also have the name of a chaperone that will be responsible for the exhibitor during the show. Entry Fees must be included!! April 10th is the due date. Online Entries must be submitted by April 10th also.

This is our 72nd year and we have a lot planned that you won’t want to miss. Opening Ceremony, Cowboy Church, Dance, Breakfast and Barbecue (both free to exhibitors), Demonstrations and Prepared Public Speaking contest, Live Animal Judging, Meats Judging, Project animal conformation and Fitting & Showing, Round Robin, Lads and Ladies Lead, Prospect Steer, and open Heifer classes. Farm Fair will again be part of our activities.

All out of state animals are required to have health permits. Bring this permit with you to weigh in. BLANKET PERMIT NUMBER IS 91-X397.

FORMS: Enclosed are ALL the forms you should need. They are on white paper so will be able to be copied easily. This year there is only ONE entry form to fill out. One form per Exhibitor. These forms should be filled out completely and neatly. If we can not read them, you will receive them back and will not be entered until it is legible. Please fill out completely. Name, address, SSN, phone, club information etc. COMPLETELY FILLED OUT!!

EAR TAGS: Leaders/Advisors I will send out ear tags when your neatly completed entry form is received in the office with entry fees.

Please tag all animals in the right ear. All tagging must be completed prior to weighing in. Scrapie ear tags are REQUIRED on all Lambs and Goats.

If you have a light steer refer to the Prospect Steer Show rules.

STEER PERFORMANCE CONTEST
: The steer performance contest committee askes you to note that in DIVISION #2 – Weight Gain Per Day of Feed Test – the beginning weight must have been taken between December 1, 2006 and January 1, 2007. Weight Gain per Day of Age will be calculated by dividing weight at Jr. Show, by days of age of steer. You will need to know your steer’s birth date. The information must be included on the entry form for steer exhibitors to compete in this contest. No Information, No Entry.

PROSPECT STEER SHOW: The Prospect Steer show is a special show for evaluation and fun. These will be the steers that are designated to go to fall fairs and shows. Entry fees to this will be $12.50, the same as for Market Steers. Awards will be Premium and added Sponsorship money. Each exhibitor may bring one (1) prospect steer. Birth dates and ownership dates are the same as for Market Steers. This steer must be entered as a 4-H or FFA project, and destined for a pre-determined 2007 fall fair. On your entry form, you must designate which Fair you will be taking this steer to. Prospect Steers will not be going through the sale, and must be removed from the barn between 6:00P.M. Saturday and 7:00A.M. Sunday. Steers in this class will show for jackpot money & awards. Pay attention to weight and enter you steer as you will show him.
HEIFER SHOW: Heifers may be either registered or non-registered. Entry Fee is $12.50 per heifer. Awards will be given. Age categories will be determined by entries. Heifers to be born after September 1, 2005. Heifers will need to be removed from the barn between 6:00 P.M. Saturday and 7:00A.M. Sunday. NO HEIFERS OVER 24 MONTHS OF AGE WILL BE ALLOWED IN THIS CONTEST!

SWINE DEPARTMENT: Must have QA forms ready at weigh in or you will be diverted to the end of the weigh-in line.

Top weight will be 290 lbs. Hogs not meeting the minimum weight requirement may be shown in Fitting & Showing and will have to be removed by Friday evening. All hogs are to be tagged in the top of the right ear, facing to the back. NO PANS OR BUCKETS TO BE LEFT UNATTENDED IN PENS. Self waterers are O.K. Packers have indicated that they do not like shaved hogs. See the new “HAIR Length” rules in the premium book. FOR Safety sake: There will be ABSOLUTELY no electric clippers allowed at the show.

CARCASS BARROW CONTEST: Exhibitors may enter one (1) carcass borrows, and must also show one other animal to be eligible for this contest. Entry Fee is $10.00 per Carcass Barrow entered. Minimum weight at show is 230 lbs. Carcass Barrows are pre-sold. Please bring form with buyer and cutting instructions, as well as your Quality Assurance Form to weigh in.

LAMB DEPARTMENT: Each exhibitor may enter two (2) lambs. Entry fee is $10.00 per lamb. All lambs must have been born after November 1, 2006 to be eligible. Lambs must be owned by the exhibitor at least 60 days prior to the show. The minimum weight is 95 lbs at weigh in. There will be a FEEDER CLASS for those lambs that do not make market weight. The minimum weight for Feeder class is 80 lbs. These light lambs will be shown for conformation in a separate class for Premiums. No purple ribbons will be awarded and there will be no champions. We remind exhibitors that this is primarily a Market Animal Show. Barn room is at a premium so we are asking that consideration be make for not bringing any lamb which you have not planned to bring as a market lamb. Feeder Lambs may participate in the Fitting & Showing Contest with the Market Lambs. Feeder Lambs will not go through the sale and must be removed from the barn on Friday evening. The exception will be if the packer includes feeders in the floor price, then you would have the option of either selling your feeder lamb at floor price or taking it home. ALL LAMBS WILL BE WIEIGHED ONLY ONCE, WITH BLANKETS REMOVED. NO WET LAMBS. If there is a question on weight, the scales will be reset and the lamb re-weighed immediately, before the lamb is removed from the vicinity of the scales. Lambs should be ear tagged at home in the right ear. All lambs will have a scrapie identification tag or tattoo, from the owner of origin in its ear or WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO STAY. Ask the person that you purchase your lamb from for this tag. If they do not have it, you will have to register your farm with the Scrapie Program. Scrapie Tags have to be in the ear from place of origin. This is a State requirement. Fleece length is to be determined by the exhibitor. Your lamb may be shorn closely, trimmed or fitted. Your leader/advisor will help you with this, depending on your expertise and the conformation on your lamb. Tail dock is determined by the rule adopted in 2004. No surgically removed (into the sacral vertebrae) tails will be accepted at this show. NOTE: Lambs will be able to be washed at the show again this year. Your superintendent will tell you the area in which this is allowed.
EWE LAMB: Each exhibitor may enter one (1) ewe lamb. Entry fee is $10.00 per ewe. Ewe lambs may be shown in Fitting & Showing if it is the sole animal that they brought.
LADS & LADIES LEAD: Commentaries are due in our office on April 10 to be eligible for this contest. No LATE entries will be accepted. The volunteer ladies, who make up the committee for Lads & Ladies Lead, have had to make this rule to insure that this contest runs smoothly. Should your lamb become ill or cannot participate in this contest, another lamb may be substituted, at the discretion of the committee. Feeder Class Lambs may also participate in this contest.

GOAT DEPARTMENT: Each exhibitor may enter two (2) goats. Entry fee is $10.00 per Goat. Goats are a maximum of 1 year old indicated by the milk teeth to eligible to show. Only wethers and does are eligible to compete. The minimum weight will be 50 lbs. There will be a FEEDER CLASS for those goats that do not make market weight. These light goats will be shown for conformation in a separate class for Premiums. No purple ribbons will be awarded and there will be no champions. We remind exhibitors that this is primarily a Market Animal Show. We ask that consideration be made for not bringing any goat which you have not planned to bringing as a market goat. Feeder goats may participate in the Fitting & Showing Contest with the Market goats. Feeder goats will not go through the sale and must be removed from the barn on Friday evening. The exception will be if the packer includes feeders in the floor price, then you would have the option of either selling your feeder goat at floor price or taking it home. ALL goats WILL BE WIEIGHED ONLY ONCE, WITH BLANKETS REMOVED. NO WET goats. If there is a question on weight, the scales will be reset and the goat re-weighed immediately, before the goat is removed from the vicinity of the scales. Goats should be ear tagged at home in the right ear. All goats will have a scrapie identification tag or tattoo, from the owner of origin in its ear or WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO STAY. Ask the person that you purchase your goat from for this tag. If they do not have it, you will have to register your farm with the Scrapie Program. Scrapie Tags have to be in the ear from place of origin. This is a State requirement. NOTE: Goats will be able to be washed at the show again this year. Your superintendent will tell you the area in which this is allowed.

DEMONSTRATION/PREPARED PUBLIC SPEAKING: Times for these contests will coincide with what are currently being used by 4-H and FFA nationally. 4-H Junior 3-8 minutes, Intermediates 5-15 minutes, seniors 8-20 minutes, FFA 5-7 minutes. There will be premiums to this contest as we feel it is one of the best educational tools that we have to offer in our program. There is a $5.00 entry fee.

HERDSMANSHIP: Heredsmanship will begin at 8:00A.M on Wednesday morning. You will have a possible 80 points allowed on Wednesday. The judges don’t expect you to be at your pens during the livestock judging, as we want you to participate. The other days will have a possible 100 points allowed. Mandatory 4-H and FFA Jr. Show stall cards to identify you and your animal. Be sure to include your club/chapter. No decorations or educational materials may be taken down until after the Fitting & Showing finals in your department on Friday evening.

CHAPERONES: All exhibitors must have a designated chaperone during the show. It is very important that all exhibitors be adequately supervised. Our show is large; making it almost impossible for all groups to be camped together, although the fair office will make every effort to do this. Leaders and advisors do the best that they can, but they often need help, especially if the group is split. Therefore, in 2007, when you sign the chaperone space, be advised that you will be held responsible as the chaperone of that exhibitor. If you aren’t able to be here, make sure that another responsible adult is named as the chaperone of your exhibitor. The chaperone should be a person who is responsible for making decisions in case of a medical emergency.

THE SALE: This will be held at the Fairgrounds. We will need all of the help that we can get to make this run smoothly. STOCKLAND will have their crew here, too. Any animal to be taken out will have to be purchased through the sale. NO ANIMALS WILL BE ALLOWED TO BE TAKEN FROM THE “TURN PENS” DURING OR AFTER THE SALE. All market animals are required to go through the auction including pre-sold animals. Every animal must be accompanied by an exhibitor or the animal will be sold at floor price. NOTE: All animals must be off the fairgrounds no later that 6:00 P.M. Sunday May 6, 2007.

YOUTH LOAN APPLICATIONS: There is still funding available for loans to purchase your project animal and/or feed.

THANK YOU CARDS: 4-H Leaders and FFA Advisors. You can get these cards from our office for the buyers. Get some help in taking and putting on the pictures of the exhibitors and project. These are really appreciated by the buyers and failure to thank buyers, make it very hard to get support for this show. We count on you to practice diligence in thanking your buyers and supporters. It is very important to the Buyers and we need to keep them HAPPY!

SET-UP DAY: Will be on Saturday April 28 beginning at 8:30 A.M. PLEASE MARK YOUR CALENDAR. We set up pens in the barns and any of the pens that we are going to use for the Sale. We will need a lot of volunteers for this. We will have a “pitch in” Barbecue at the end of setting things up. Jr. Show will provide table service, meat & beverages. You can fill in with salads, beans, chips, desserts etc. We will have pop, coffee, and donuts in the morning. Bring your gloves, wheel barrows, pliers, etc. Those of you that live to far away, please help out your share during the show and help to clean out the Ag. Building after FARM FAIR.

FUNDING: We are once again keeping our fingers crossed for the State Fair Funding that we have received in the past. To help ourselves with in the financial department we will hold the 9th Annual Benefit Dinner/Auction Gala on February 24th, 2007, in the Ag Complex at the Fairgrounds. This once again proved to be a wonderful fund raising last year, and we are hoping for the same or even better this year. Many of you “stepped up to the plate” to make a very real contribution to our funding to assure that this show will go on.

WE NEED DONATIONS!!

If anyone has items they would like donate to the auction, please let us know at the office as soon as possible. All donated items are greatly appreciated, the more items we receive, the better the chance we will have something for everyone.

SOUVENIR PROGRAM BOOK: Don’t forget to place your ad for the souvenir program book that will be put out at the show. This is a great way to support the kids. All ad money goes directly to the premium account, so advertised your company or business and show our continued support to the Jr. Show.

JULY 2006

News of the Annual Meeting

Treva Norris, Manager

The Executive Board of Directors met July 17th. We were reminded that we can’t post actual minutes of meetings on the internet until they are approved. Since that won’t happen until the November meeting it was decided to put up dates in the form of News letters on the internet. Also note that meetings will be posted on our web site.

The annual meeting of the Junior Livestock Show of Spokane was held in mid-June. Some of the items discussed were:

Recommendations from the Beef Committee: 1) Change horn rule to say, “horns can be no longer than 2 inches from any point at the base to the tip” 2) There will be no generators allowed. 3) Ear tags can be in either ear, however all non-Jr. Show ear tags in Market steers must be removed prior to the show. 4) Clarification of rule #1, page 32 to Beef exhibitors can choose which entry to show in fitting and showing. Page 14, rule #9 to give option to show heifer or prospect steer. Minimum weight will remain at 1050#. 9) Raise beef entry fees to $10 per animal. 1st choice for Judge is Dan Hoge, Black Hawk College, Cambridge, Illinois.

Recommendations from the Swine Committee: Hair clipping rule stands as is with guidelines for measurement and penalties for non-compliance to be decided at the November meeting.
Decide in November about raising entry fees for swine. New entry forms and new specifications are being worked on by the carcass committee for the barrow carcass show. Will be ready at the November meeting. 1st choice for judge is Kim Brock, Oklahoma State University. It was strongly advised for the swine people to get parents around to help load out the semi on sale day.

Recommendations from the Lamb Committee: An issue arose about an exhibitor possibly showing someone elses lambs. Tag numbers will be checked upon entering the show ring. Keep the ewe lamb breeding class. Remember: All lambs must have scrapie tags in their ears. May elect to raise entry fees if needed in November. 1st choice for judge: Dr. Jan Busboom, Washington State Univ.

Recommendations from the Goat Committee: Yes! There will be a goat show in 2007. Superintendents are Lisa Zunker and Mike Moser. 4-H Superintendent is Jim Wentland. We need an FFA Superintendent. The maximum age of your goat entry is 1 year of age as indicated by the milk teeth. Weight range is 50 to 130 lbs. Hair length must be less than 3/4 inch. State 4-H rules require that goats must be shown without horns, therefore NO HORNS will be allowed. Medium ear tags will be used for the goats. Some dairy goat breeds do not have ears, therefore, they must be tattooed under the tail web and will need neck chains. Entry fees and premium points will be the same as for sheep. No pygmy or fainting goats will be allowed. 1st choice for judge Is Rick Klampe.

A grounds committee will be formed headed up by Dick Blakley and Fred Springer.

All meetings will be posted on the web site and the web site will be more up to date.

A discussion was held on Mail-in ballots for the election of the Board of Trustees members in 2007.
Elections were held: Voted to the Honorary Board of Trustees: Gary Tellessen, Damian Mosey, John Schultheis, Steffani Lippert, Hal Meenach, Robyn Neenach, and Dee Peterschick. This board is made up of people who have served Jr. Show in the capacity of President, those who have given many years to Jr. Show and others who are honored for their contributions to Jr. Show. The people on this Board have full voting privileges, and may be elected to serve on other boards as well.

The newly elected members to the Board of Trustees were: J.D. Baser, Marc Bloss, John Dixon, Terry Gibson, Jr., Pete Nelson, Jeff Seviney, Donna Tellessen, Karen Wilson, Jim Wentland and Mark Bullock. The Executive Board of Directors met and voted to keep their same slate of officers.
According to the By Laws any board member who has missed three meetings may be asked to leave. We want to have active boards!

Other items of interest: The old pictures that were hanging in Stockland are now in the store room at our office here in Spokane. We need some volunteers to come in and work on them. They are too heavy to hang, in disrepair and need to be either put into more manageable frames, albums or something. We are also asking for people to volunteer to be a Historical committee, to work on these as well as other documents in our archives.

Office Assistant, Lynn Cotter is working on our new Sho Works computer program. We will need all entries to have the exhibitor’s middle initial in 2007. The reason being, we have several exhibitors with the very same first and last name. Checks are often sent to the wrong person making a huge problem for our office and the kids. Don’t forget we need social security numbers.

The Auction Committee met last week and the random surveys were discussed: The surveys were the determining factor in our decisions for the 2007 Jr. Livestock Show Benefit Gala Dinner & Auction.
The date will be February 24th, the place Spokane County Fair and Expo Center Ag Complex, So that you won’t be so crowded, we have expanded to make more room, the price is still $25 per person and $185.00 table for 8. The theme will be “Back in Time” and will feature old and new Jr. Show exhibitors. Memorable Events will do the dinner and the menu will be what you liked in past years. Dress will be casual. Country Music for entertainment as well as lots of new exciting things....and the Diamond Dig may come back. Reserve your table early. They go fast! We always need lots of help and many donations.

Next meetings of the Executive Board of Directors: Sunday evening August 6th at 6:00 P.M. and
Sunday, October 1st at 1:00 P.M. Both meetings will be held at the Spangle Service Club meeting room. A meeting of the Auction Committee is scheduled for Wednesday evening, September 13. 6:30 P.M. at the Broadway Inn and Suites meeting room.

HAVE A GREAT SUMMER AND STAY COOL!!!
