Q: Once the website is complete, do you provide continuing support?

Yes we can do, and how much support you have is completely up to you. More often than not, we provide ongoing support to our customers, even after the website development project is completed. This often includes website management, website hosting and maintenance, training, digital marketing and much more besides. We value the relationships we have with our customers, and in many cases, we have worked with clients in excess of 8 years, supporting them in all aspects of growing their business online. Q: Will the website be SEO optimised to perform well in search engines (e.g. Google)?

Yes, all of our e-commerce websites are set up with SEO functionality already in place. This will allow you to optimise each page and product to perform well in all search engines including Google. As the system is content-manageable, you can choose to manage this optimisation yourself. Alternatively, we do offer Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) services that can help your website achieve its full potential.

Q: Can my E-commerce website contain as many products as I need?

Absolutely! There is almost no limit to the number of products you can add to your website. We have built e-commerce websites that feature only a handful of products but most of our customers have a range within in the hundreds of products.

Q: Can I manage my e-commerce website myself (e.g. adding a new product)?

Yes, all e-commerce websites that we build are content-manageable meaning that once it’s built, you will be able to have complete control over managing the content of your website. You’ll be able to add new products, manage stock levels, update content, create discounts/offers, process orders and much more. We do offer Website Management Support Services as part of our ongoing support package and if you’d prefer not to be updating your website, then we can do it for you.

Q: What payment systems can be used?

There are many payments gateways available to you. The most widely used is PayPal alongside credit and debit card payments. If you need, we can set up additional methods of payment including bank transfer, cash on delivery and even cheque payments. We can also make use of almost any other payment gateway including Stripe, WorldPay, SagePay, Amazon Pay and many more.

Q: What e-commerce systems do Gromedia use?

There are a number of e-commerce systems available but Gromedia works exclusively with Shopify and WooCommerce which the e-commerce solution produced by WordPress. These platforms are are especially good options because they are high-performing, feature-rich, and customisable. They also offer a secure and reliable solution, are easy to manage and highly recognised within the market.

Q: How much does an e-commerce website cost?

This entirely depends on your requirements but, as a rough guideline, e-commerce websites can start at £1495 + VAT. This price will increase if you also require us to work on the website branding, written content, imagery, etc. Providing this yourself would be a way for you to reduce the cost. The overall cost would also depend upon the number of products, the size of the website and how much content was needed.

E-commerce websites comes with a wide range of feature options. As standard, almost all e-commerce websites will have product pages, category pages, filter systems, a payment gateway (e.g. PayPal), “Add to Basket”, cart page, checkout page, customer accounts, promotional codes, customer reviews and much, much more. Q: What’s involved in building an e-commerce website?

All website projects start with an initial consultation to establish the requirements of the project including your preferred payment system (e.g. PayPal) and the number of products. After that, we will begin to gather the required assets for the project such as product information, written content, quality imagery/photography, all brand elements (e.g. logo) and anything else that will appear on the website. Once the assets are in place, we can begin to build the website. A first draft will be delivered, at which point, you’ll have an opportunity to provide feedback and requested changes. Once you are happy that the website meets the agreed requirements, we will make the website live.
